Factors influencing the patient safety climate in intensive care units: cross-sectional study

Abstract Background Measuring the patient safety climate of a health service provides important information about status at given time. This study aimed to determine factors influencing in Intensive Care Units. Methods An analytical and cross-sectional conducted 2017 2018 two adult Units Brazilian Teaching Hospital. The Safety Attitudes Questionnaire instrument was applied with multidisciplinary teams climate. Data were double entered into database processed using R (version 3.5.0) statistical software. Position, central tendency dispersion measures taken absolute relative frequencies, mean confidence intervals calculated for quantitative variables. Linear regression performed verify effect variables on SAQ domains. Variables p -value less than 0.25 selected multivariate analysis. Results A total 84 healthcare providers participated study. score 59.5, evidencing negative following influenced climate: time since course completion, professional category, type employment contract, complementary training, weekly workload.
